In this design, Wright celebrated the blossoms that top the ancient Saguaro cactus. Wright used it on the cover of an anthology of lectures he gave at Princeton in 1930 entitled “Modern Architecture.” Later, in 1973, the design was adapted by Taliesin Architects for an art glass window that was installed in the entrance to the Arizona Biltmore Resort resort where it can still be seen today.

Wisconsin Connections — Frank Lloyd Wright was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin in 1867, and Taliesin, Wright's home, studio and country estate, is located in the hilly Driftless Region of southwestern Wisconsin near Spring Green. Wright's “Prairie Style” became the basis of 20th-century residential design in the United States. His furniture, art, and writing were crucial to twentieth century architectural development and have a profound influence on the decorative arts to this day.
