Frank Lloyd Wright Hoffman Rug Throw Blanket
Description
Inspired by one of Frank Lloyd Wright's art glass creations, this cozy cotton throw features a geometric design with warm earth tones.
Max Hoffman was a European automobile importer for whom Frank Lloyd Wright designed a house in Rye, NY as well as a Jaguar dealership in New York City. The floating, boldly colored, intersecting circles with square accents were the carpet design for the living room of the Hoffman home. Although the rug was not executed in 1957 for that home, it was woven for Wright’s own living room at Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin, after his death.
The work of Frank Lloyd Wright (American, 1867-1959) is recognized worldwide as pivotal to the development of modern architecture. Through a deep understanding of our relationship with the natural world, Wright’s ideas and designs were inspired by organic forms. His vision, “to make life more beautiful, the world a better one for living in, and to give rhyme, reason, and meaning to life” is carried on through the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and represented on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
