In 1919, Wisconsin raced with Michigan and Illinois to become the first state to ratify the 19th Amendment and guarantee women's right to vote in the Constitution. Notable Wisconsinite Belle La Follette was known for her eloquent speeches that demanded equal access to the ballot box. Ultimately, the long battle for women's suffrage was won in 1920. Share in a piece of this history with this great enamel "Votes for Women" pin, exclusively from the Wisconsin Historical Society!
