    • Learn how to navigate genealogy research for Jewish families. Glean a basic understanding of variations of Jewish given names and the acquisition of surnames. Understand Jewish community migration patterns, reading Hebrew tombstones, and where to being to search for family, including Israelis, and survivors and victims of the Holocaust.
About the Lecturer: Debbie Kroopkin is currently the President of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois. She has worked on her family history for over two decades and now conducts research for others. She has a master’s degree in social work administration with grant writing, interagency collaboration and program planning experience.
