Cruise through the lesser-traveled waters of the mighty Mississippi River as you follow the path of the soldiers who captured Fort Shelby during the Battle of Prairie du Chien and see the stunning scenery along the way.

Presentation by Mary Elise Antoine, author of The War of 1812 in Wisconsin. This event is not at Villa Louis; see location info, below.

This event is held in conjunction with a week-long series of events surrounding the Villa Louis' War of 1812: Battle of Prairie du Chien Re-enactment event that takes place annually on the Villa Louis grounds July 13-14.

Cost/Tickets:
  • $25.00 Adults/General Admission (age 13 and up)
  • $12.50 Children (age 5-13)
  • $Free Children age 4 and under
  • Tickets are non-refundable.
  • Physical tickets will not be mailed. Please save your confirmation email and check-in on site day of event. 
Location: The boat will dock at the beach across from the West Lawn of Villa Louis. Guests should check in at the Villa Louis' elevated visitor's center.  MAP
