About General Admission

After checking in at the front desk, guests begin their museum journey with a 20 minute musical introductory film on the history of the island.


Afterwards, guest will continue to explore the Capser Center Gallery featuring the exhibit "Wiigwaazii: The Evolving Traditions of Birch," a collaboration between the Madeline Island Museum and artists Pat Kruse and Terri Hom.


Guests will continue back in time to the original museum which was opened by Leo and Bella Capser in 1958.
