Embossed with a canoe and paddles, this design celebrates the spirit of relaxation and escapism into nature that the lake is known for. The coaster is embossed with the details on its settlement in 1836 along with the phrase "Better on the Water," which is a tribute to the area’s long history of boating, fishing, and water sports.

Located in southeastern Wisconsin, Geneva Lake has been a popular relaxation destination for well over a century. Originally inhabited by the Potawatomi and other Native American tribes, the area is known for its clear waters and picturesque landscape.

In the 1870s, as Chicago’s wealthy fled the aftermath of the Great Chicago Fire, they sought refuge in Geneva. They built lavish mansions along the lake’s shores, which eventually gave the area its nickname: the "Newport of the West."

Today, visitors can explore mansions such as the Black Point Estate and Gardens, built by beer baron, Conrad Seipp, and get a glimpse into the past. The 20-room Queen Anne-style “cottage” was completed in 1888 for $20,000. It included 13 bedrooms and only one bathroom. It sat on nearly eight acres of beautiful grounds that included 620 feet of undisturbed Geneva Lake shoreline.

      Sugarhouse Leather

Sugarhouse Leather is a small-scale leather studio based in Milwaukee, WI, specializing in handcrafted leather goods made from the finest harness leather. Known for their rustic yet refined style, they create unique, high-quality coasters that are individually cut and embossed by hand. The coasters will naturally develop a patina over time. As they age, they take on a beautiful deep hue, with the leather softening and showing subtle variations in color and texture. This aging process enhances the character of the leather.
