Wednesdays this summer at Old World Wisconsin join us in exploring history in a new way with a guided tour of the site. There are 3 tours to choose from: Beasts and Barns, Makers and Moo-vers, and Building a Home. They are available three times a day between 9:30 AM and 2:45 PM.

Ticket purchases through the Box Office close at 4pm the day before the event.

Return Policy



Know before you go: Guided Journeys are 75-minute tours which explore specific areas of the site, only the areas covered in the tour will be available to guests on these days. The full site is not open on Guided Journey days.



Available tours include:

Beasts and Barns

9:15 AM | 11:30 AM | 2 PM

From oxen, to a dairy barn, to a one-room church, discover what it means to be from a rural place and what community and family can look like across generations, as you travel from the 1860s to the 1910s in Life on the Farms.

Makers and Moo-vers

9:15 AM | 11:45 AM | 2 PM

Get up close with some of our heritage animals as you explore the Yankee Farm. Figure out what animals make, and how they move and how they help us make and moo-ve, too!

Building a Home

9:30 AM |  Noon | 2:15 PM

Travel back to the 1860s Norwegian Immigrant Farm and look closely to find out what it takes to build a home. Then, practice your detective skills to see how a home can change over time

Adults (13-64) $10.99

Seniors (65+) $8.99

Children (5-12) $5.99

Society members get 10% off with your member ID card



About the Location

Old World Wisconsin documents the settlement of 19th- and early 20th-century Wisconsin. It comprises an 1870s crossroads village and 10 ethnic farmsteads located on 576 acres of wooded hills in the Southern Unit of Kettle Moraine State Forest.
